Everything you need to know about trying out for Vanta Percussion's 2027 season. Learn more about audition dates, our callback schedule, tuition, required equipment, and what our staff looks for in prospective members.

 

When are Vanta Percussion’s Auditions for the 2027 Inaugural Season? 

Prospective members must attend each of the two initial audition dates for the 2027 season. Our audition dates and times are as follows:
 
  • Sunday, October 18, 2026 (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • Sunday, October 25, 2026 (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

Attendance is required for both of these sessions to be fully considered.
 

When Are Callbacks for the 2027 Season?

Following the initial auditions, callbacks will take place on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Those invited to return will receive further instruction by email after their audition.
 

Where Are Vanta Percussion Auditions Held? Is There a Video Audition Option?

All in-person events will be hosted at Metter High School in Metter, Georgia. Please note that video auditions are not accepted for the 2027 season; every applicant must attend in person. This allows our team to better evaluate your execution of movement fundamentals and choreography.
 

What Sections Are Vanta Percussion Recruiting For?

We are currently looking for performers in the following areas:
  • Snare Drum
  • Tenor Drums
  • Bass Drum
  • Cymbal Line
  • Front Ensemble
  • Visual Ensemble
 

What Is the Visual Ensemble?

The Visual Ensemble is a group of performers dedicated to choreography, movement, theatricality, and the show's visual narrative. While prior experience in dance or movement is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite for membership.
 

Who Is Eligible to Audition for Vanta Percussion?

Our auditions are open to any individual who meets the age requirements and can commit to the 2027 season. We encourage performers from all musical and visual backgrounds to participate. Per WGI, no individual may be older than 22 years of age as of 12:01am on April 1st, 2027.
 

Do I Need Prior Indoor Percussion Experience to Audition?

You do not need previous indoor percussion experience to audition. Vanta Percussion values a strong work ethic, a positive mindset, thorough preparation, and a desire to learn. We are happy to select individuals with unique backgrounds and various skill levels.
 

What Should I Bring to My Vanta Percussion Audition?

Please ensure you have the following items for your audition:
  • Your instrument (Battery only) and necessary sticks or mallets
  • A practice pad (for battery percussionists)
  • A water bottle and a pencil
  • Appropriate athletic wear and closed-toe athletic shoes
  • All required audition packets or materials
Members of the Visual Ensemble should specifically wear clothing that allows for a full range of movement.
 

Is Food Provided at Auditions?

Please be aware that food is not provided during auditions. Performers are responsible for bringing their own snacks, lunch, and beverages, or they may purchase food during the scheduled breaks.
 

Is there a Cost to Audition?

Nope, Vanta Percussion auditions are free of charge. We want to spend this time getting to know you and your abilities. We value equal opportunity auditions that are accessible for everyone. All we want from you is to see your best out there on audition day!
 

What is the Cost of Tuition?

For the 2027 season, membership tuition is set at $1,500 per person. These fees are priced out as conservatively as possible in an effort to keep costs low for performers. Tuition fees go directly towards the following expenses:
  • Show design costs, including choreography, music arrangements, and copyrights.
  • Competition entry fees for WGI and regional circuits.
  • Logistical expenses such as hotel accommodations and travel to regional events like WGI Orlando and WGI Atlanta.
  • Instructional staff salaries and facility rental fees.
 

Are Payment Installments Available?

Certainly. We offer a structured payment plan that allows tuition to be paid in installments over the course of the season. This is intended to keep participation in indoor percussion accessible within Southeast Georgia.
 

Can you explain the Save Your Spot Fee?

Once a contract is offered and accepted, members must pay a $250 “Save Your Spot” Fee. This deposit secures your place in the ensemble and will be credited toward your total tuition for the season.
 

Can I get a refund for the Save Your Spot Fee?

Because this fee is used to reserve your specific membership slot, it is a non-refundable fee.
 

What is the Recommended Attire for Auditions?

Please wear athletic shoes and comfortable athletic clothing that permits a full range of motion. You should be ready for indoor rehearsals as well as any outdoor visual sessions.
 

Are Contracts Issued on the Day of Auditions?

Some applicants may receive a contract immediately, while others might be asked to attend callbacks before a final decision is reached. This is decided on a case-by-case basis, so no need to worry if you have not received a contract on audition day.
 

Is Callback Attendance Mandatory?

Attendance is only required for those who have received an official invitation to the callback camp on November 8, 2026.
 

Am I Allowed to Audition for Multiple Sections?

Yes – Absolutely. You may be requested to show your skills on different instruments or in various performance roles based on requirements and scheduling.
